I've heard so many people talking about their journals and blogs, that I decided I better get with it and start my own. I am an illustrator and have been told by a lot of fellow artists that this is one of the best ways to get your name out there, so here I am:-) I've been drawing for as long as I can remember and have always loved to read as well. So when I got older and started wondering what I should do with my life, I decided to combine my two favorite hobbies and illustrate children's books. I'm still dreaming of that day I get to sign my first contract, but I know its coming soon! My artistic influences are Kadir Nelson, Leuyen Pham, Ian Falconer, Brian Ajhar and Tim Jessell. There are many, many more but I guess these are the ones I'm most awed by. I was just introduced to Mary Jane Begins work as well. I really like it and can't wait to study it more closely. The mediums I work with the most are acrylic and digital. When I get tired of the hassle and messiness of working with paint, its fun to switch to the ease of the computer. And when I get bored with digital, I just go back to my acrylics. Works great for me. With LJ, I'm hoping to get my work out for people to see, and also to see what other illustrators are up to. It would be great to be able to meet new people, so please stop by and say hello!
